Football Five Star

Our Mini Stars Academy offers children aged 3-6 the ultimate introduction to the game of football, training takes place at Jubilee playing fields, East Peckham.

The coaching philosophy for our MINI STARS is based around children having fun whilst developing the core gross motor skills of running, jumping, kicking catching and throwing. There is also a large focus on ball mastery, also known as ball manipulation. We aim for all Mini Stars members to progress to our player development and/or advanced academies held evenings mideweek. We achieve this with a structured coaching plan which takes a long-term view of individual player development and is specifically tailored for players of this age.

At mini stars we focus on the fundamentals of the game, we teach children how to master the basics that will hopefully lay the foundations for future development. Our focus is always in working with a football, making players comfortable and hopefully allowing them the confidence to express themselves within training sessions.

We look to develop the technical basics through a mixture of technical sessions and fun games. Players get as many touches on the ball as possible, which sees players very quickly flourish in confidence, as well as developing their ABCS (agility, balance, co-ordination and speed).

We will cover many different techniques such as dribbling, turning, passing, receiving and shooting, which we will progress into small-sided games..

Our specialist coaches have been selected to work with players of this age group and they have the experience and knowledge to consistently put on fun and engaging sessions that will ensure players of all abilities and personalities both enjoy themselves and develop as footballers. In addition to the footballing benefits players receive at our MINI STARS academy, they are also taught valuable life lessons such as fair play, teamwork and the importance of hard work.
